Fredric Kroll, who also reviewed the classic Brazillian film Earth in Trance (Terra em transe), directed by Glauber Rocha (see below), reviews this film which is for Brazil what Buena Vista Social Club was for Cuba. The greatest masterpiece in the history of Brazilian cinema, “Earth in Trance” (original title: “Terra em transe”), directed by Glauber Rocha (1939 -1981), has recently been restored in high resolution and is being shown in art cinemas all over Brazil now. fiba correspondent Fredric Kroll (current- ly in Brazil) has previewed it for us and reports exclusively about the newly minted version.
